Hello everybody, my name is Kent Angel Bewley and I am creating a new blog page for my journalistic pursuits. I already have a blog site on WordPress because I was recommended to do so by a mentor that I was paired with at my previous institution after one semester of reporting at the student newspaper that I wrote stories for. I created my blog site to give more exposure to my storytelling abilities and I started doing personal post stories in early 2025 to give myself more of a natural rhythm of journalistic writing after graduating.
The beat that I have aimed myself towards is sports and more specifically professional sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA and MLB. I am a huge fan of a specific team in each of those leagues and I have written posts about game summaries and off-the-playing field news for each of them. Being a passionate sports fan could potentially guide me towards a careers in sports reporting, even though I am open to reporting on other subjects. But reporting on something that I am both familiar and engaged with could serve me well in long-term career aspects.
Before I end this post, I would like to talk a little more about myself. I am a 25-year old young man living in Southern California with my family and I am a hardworking writer who always has facts and important tidbits memorized in his head. If there is something that I cannot quite accurately pinpoint in my “database”, then I look up that specific data online and check the sources. Overall, I would like to gain an audience that trusts my work and provides good feedback so that I can improve on any mistakes that I make in my reporting.
